William Soal was born in 1717, Herne, Kent. He was baptised on the 2nd of June 1717.


His parents were John Soal (1674-1747) and Mary Bayly. 


He was an agricultural labourer.


On the 13th of October 1733, he married Ann Tanner at Saint Alphege in Canterbury, Kent, England. 


Their children were William Soal (Born 1737), John Soal (Born 1739), Edward Soal (Born 1741), Richard Soal (Born 1743) and Hannah Soal (Born 1746).


William Soal died in 1760 around the start of the Industrial Revolution.
